Bold Pastel Stripes

… and then I just slipped into that midi light dress you so loved. Yeah, that pastel one with black and white and rose stripes, all the way above my knees, that made my bum look so cheeky and my waist look so tiny…
One of the trend which keeps come back in fashion are THE STRIPES. And also this season the stripes are owning the sartorial stage. Every kind of stripes are this year in, from the classic French black & white stripes to colored stripes, to those 60’s and 70’s inspired retro stripes, to horizontal, vertical and anything in between. Also this summer is very colorful, because of all those coloured stripes are massive on trend – color block is coming back! Stripes are always a bold look to go for, which can be used to create optical illusions, to elongate the frame, to draw the eye and to pull focus. There are so many different ways to wear stripes and, though you may not think this is the look for you, you would undoubtedly find a way to wear bold stripes that would perfectly suit you. For me, there is always minimum one striped piece in my wardrobe and this ever years. Sometimes I am wearing so much stripes, which are kinda similar, that people think I am always wearing the same shirt. As you already know me, I am always wearing oversized clothes. And this is something not bad – because the zeitgeist in fashion right now is anti anything uptight, angsty or overly constructed. Everything that feels or looks like uncomfortable – just throw it away or put it back in the box.
This light pastel striped dress is from Vila and I am totally in love with this. It has the perfect length, soft material for hot summer days and the perfect color mixture. This dress is trendy, but still casual for everyday. I combined this dress with one of my fav platform heels, but for sure this dress would look super cool with white sneakers or some clean sandals. What is the perfect match to this dress? Of course a soft grey bucket bag. I am totally a bucket bag lover and this one by Vila is just awesome.
